Columbia River spring Chinook are the best tasting salmon, having the highest fat content. These are hard-fighting fishing with peak runs in March through June.
The Columbia River has a nice run of summer salmon that is often overlooked. In August we start fishing Buoy 10 at the mouth of the Columbia for both Chinook and Coho. The season lasts about six weeks, then we start fishing further up the Columbia.
